Limit Use of Images; Use Alt Tags

Alt TagsHow annoying is it to see "Photo/Picture Unavailable"? Everyone looking at a website is just as annoyed when they can't find the images they were seeking out.

Images and Flash may be visually appealing, but search engines are blind to the actual content of the graphics. When creating content, try to limit the use of images and Flash. Make sure that if you do use these resources that they support the content within the page to which they are being applied. For the images that are displayed, use alt tags that contain targeted keywords that provide a description of the graphics. Pictures of any kind can be used (relevant or irrelevant) but search engines will only see the alt tags related to them. Therefore, search engines can easily be spoofed, even though doing so is not technically correct.
